1- Receives work assignments from supervisor including blue prints or isometric drawings of pipe works to be fabricated, repaired installed or reinstalled.
2- Reads blue prints or drawings, determines necessary tools and selects specified size and type of raw material from stock.
3- Lays out material and measures stock using rule to locate center line for template. Cuts material to specified dimensions using oxygen/acetylene equipment and power tools.
4- May fit and align fabricated parts by using jigs, braces or “tack” welding before assembly and welding operations.
5- Installs, disassembles and repairs piping works in plant or workshop according to blue print specifications, using hand tools and portable power tools.
6- Inspects assemblies and installation for conformance with specifications, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, scales and micrometer. Checks alignment, levels and pressure tests.
7- Installs and repairs piping systems including flanges, strainers, valves, traps, pipe supports and shock absorbers.
8- Carries out similar or related duties such as keeping work area and tools clean, observing all safety and fire regulations, salvaging and returning materials and tools to stores after work is completed and working in other crafts or assignments as directed.
• Min. 3 years of relevant experience
• Between 22 to 45 years of age
• Must have technical knowledge / familiarity with Petrochemical / Oil & Gas construction industry
• Fair communication skills in English language.
