Community Engagement, Sports and Recreation Team Coordinator Job in Mafraq – International Relief and Development

• Supervise national and volunteers staff, Encourage, support and provide training programs to improve the quality of leadership in recreation activities by staff and volunteers.
• Work and communicate with Community members to assess, identify, develop, and implement recreation programs that reflect the community needs. Conduct research into community needs. Identify programming that responds to those needs. Research, identify gaps, develop, recommend and implement recreation programs.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures. Identify opportunities for improvement and implementation.
• Maintain effective communications and establish good working relationships with other community-based recreation service providers in the camp and UNHCR .
• Provide administrative and technical support for the community led initiatives, women and youth committees.
• Insure all the CE and RS locations and programs are working in the most effective way as well as continually evaluating gaps and acting to improve their quality and establish new programs/locations in accordance with the work-plan and indicators.
• Establish new locations and conduct improvements (design location, write and present proposal, coordinate with and supervise different implementers) in accordance with work-plan.
• Project and propose component budget, as well as manage component spending needs in accordance with work-plan.
• Propose, manage, and monitor indicators and ensure adherence to approved work-plan; draft and propose adjustments needs related to factors on the ground or community needs.
• Oversee programs and monitor their quality; identify gaps, additional community needs, or opportunities for improvement and take relevant actions to improve and expand programs .
• Establish new programs in accordance with budget and work plan in response to community needs (design program, propose, procure materials) .
• Identify and obtain necessary materials, working with Procurement on PRF requests, Engineers on construction/technical needs, and Finance on stipends/cash purchases. Complete relevant reports (event reports, expense liquidations) to facilitate this process.
• Gain approval for new projects/activities from UNHCR and Police in coordination with IRD management and Security Officer.
• Address difficult situations or problems that arise in locations or programs to support relevant Project Officer in coordination with Security Officer and Monitoring Team.
• Pro-actively identify new opportunities to improve programs or increase responsiveness to community needs as well as build new partnerships, gain donations, or promote IRD and Za’atari programming.
• Recruit, train, and manage day to day responsibilities of team of Project Officers and Syrian volunteers.
• Delegate responsibilities, oversee implementation, and support officers to establish and manage projects, monitor performance and conduct performance reviews, and support problem-solving for issues within each project.
• Organize Admin procedures, including absences, forms, and volunteer stipends, in coordination with HR and Finance teams.
• Ensures that staff adheres to humanitarian principles, IRD code of conduct, Child protection and PSEA policies, practices and procedures and applicable Jordan regulations.
• In close coordination with the protection advisor, ensure that protection principles are means trained in all project cycle management.
• Coordinate needs of various partners using the community centers and football fields (other IRD components, UNHCR, War Child, FPSC, UEFA, etc.) as well as develop new partnerships to promote increased use of centers and football fields.
• Develop partnerships with other agencies and/or potential donors to secure donations for programs, support for programs, and/or collaborate on joint projects.
• Represent IRD in coordination meetings and interagency projects, with regular participation the Za’atari level Youth Task Force and Education Sub-Working Group as well as participation as needed in other sector level groups.
• Coordinate and inform relevant partners about locations, programs, and events (other IRD components, UNHCR, agencies, etc.) to promote increased use of locations, referrals of beneficiaries, joint projects, and engagement in event.
• Liaise with IRD HQ to promote IRD Za’atari projects through media coverage and follow up on media needs on the ground.
• Support delegation visits as needed by UNHCR and promote IRD interests through highlighting of programs and development of partnerships.
• Design reports, forms, and other paperwork to track and collect information from team and volunteers.
• Synthesize daily reports and registration/attendance lists with monitoring from the field to ensure full engagement of team, quality of activities, and progress on indicators.
• Prepare weekly reports and any other reports as requested by IRD management or UNHCR to report on programs, indicators, and activities.
