Job Description
Purpose of Consultancy:As part of its capacity sharing policy, the IRC Northwest Syria partnership department needs to support one of our partners regarding building a protection advocacy strategy plan. The proposed method is to conduct an advocacy training of trainers for 25 of the partner’s staff (inside Syria and in Turkey) and IRC Staff, the ToT will have a special focus on protection advocacy, and will result in a drafted advocacy protection strategy plan. During the ToT, the participants should be drafting a complete advocacy strategy, outlining clear objectives, target activities, allies, deliverables, and indicators, as well as an implementation plan.And they should be able to train their colleagues on implementing the advocacy plan after the ToT.
Scope of Work:Task 1. Conduct a training needs assessment. Task 2. Build the training materials (including how to Develop an Advocacy strategy).Task 3. Conduct an advocacy training of trainers, followed by advocacy protection training of trainers. Task 4. Build an advocacy plan during the advocacy protection training of trainers’ side by side with the participants.Task 5. Develop a report from the training, including participants’ evaluation and self-reflection on the improvements in knowledge and skills in advocacy.
Deliverables:1- Training module and training plan2- Training program goals and objectives, agenda, materials, description of methods, scenario, presentation3- Conduct advocacy training of trainers followed by advocacy protection training of trainers.4- Training materials that would be shared with the participants for their upcoming training.Drafted protection advocacy plan. Review the advocacy plan shared by the participants
Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or equivalent in International Development, Advocacy, Social Policy, journalism, or similar fields and a minimum of three years of experience in humanitarian assistance.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting training and building advocacy strategy plans. Preference is given to persons with 3 years’ experience writing on gender or inclusion related protection and Women protection.
- Familiarity with Northwest Syria or the Middle East context
- Fluent Arabic speaking/writing skills.
- Excellent English Reporting skills.
